Vows & Valleys is an independent directory of wedding venues and suppliers for Cumbria, the Lake District and South West Scotland — the beautiful bit in the middle that the big national sites barely cover.
Why we built it
If you're marrying in the Lakes, at Gretna Green or just over the border in Dumfries & Galloway, the national wedding sites send you a thin, patchy list — a handful of the biggest venues and a lot of nothing. The real local photographers, florists, celebrants, barns and country houses get lost. We keep one carefully-checked list of them, in one place, organised the way you actually plan: by area, and by what you still need to book.
How our listings work
We compile listings from publicly available information so couples can find local suppliers quickly. Where a business hasn't claimed its listing yet, we say so plainly — we're not affiliated with them, and they haven't paid to be there.
- Free to list and free to claim. A business owner can take control of their listing, add their own photos and correct their details at no cost.
- No commission, ever. Enquiries go straight to the supplier. We don't sit in the middle taking a cut.
- Honest by design. Paid placement, when it opens, is always clearly labelled — never disguised as an editorial pick.
- Removed on request, no questions asked. If a business wants its listing or a photo changed or taken down, we do it.

Cumbria and Carlisle, the Lake District — Windermere, Ambleside, Keswick and beyond — Gretna Green, and Dumfries & Galloway in South West Scotland. One region, either side of the border, an hour from end to end.
